Swasey School Board

Hello Brentwood, this is Kate Bonafede and I would appreciate your vote for reelection to the Swasey Central School Board. As my four children move through the SAU16 school system I continue to have a child (or 2) in each of three SAU 16 school levels.  Three of my children have passed through K-5 at Swasey, and we have experienced how well-prepared our children are for middle and high school. Locally I work as a family doctor at Lamprey Health, coach youth sports year-round, and am an active member at Pilgrim Congregational Church.  I will continue to bring these multiple perspectives to the Swasey School Board. 

 

I appreciate the money that each taxpayer puts forward to educate the children of Brentwood and the importance of spending taxpayer dollars judiciously.  I believe in the power of education and that maintaining a strong school system adds value to everyone in Brentwood. I am also grateful for the time and effort of our educators, volunteers and community members, who contribute to the Swasey experience. Over the last three years on the School Board I have worked to reinforce the School Board mission to keep students at the center of all decisions made. The School Board has worked with the administration to develop a system of reviewing data each month to objectively monitor the school’s progress and work to improve the education and experience that each child receives. During my tenure, Swasey has continued to provide stellar education for our town’s children, and Swasey received the New Hampshire School of Excellence Award.  Additionally I am proud that we are able to facilitate the installation of solar panels at the school, as this is an environmentally sound and cost saving measure. If reelected to the Swasey School Board, I will strive to support great education for our children while balancing the fiscal responsibility of the Board.
